An Exceptional George IV Mahogany Compactum Wardrobe

Attributed to James Mein.
With an inverted breakfront, central bank of eight short drawers over three long.
Each with book matched, figured mahogany veneered fronts, stamped 'Turner's Patent' locks and lobed handles.
Cupboards to each side, the left hand one having five solid mahogany slides. The right hand one having original turned hanging knobs and a brass rail.
Concave, cross banded panels to the cupboard fronts.
Raised on a plinth base.
Exceptional quality and condition.
Unstamped, but possibly by James Mein of Kelso

A similar wardrobe was sold in November 2004 at Christies. That one was by James Mein of Kelso. The handles and proportions are the same as this one. It also has the locks with the same stamps.
