With a detachable shaped back rest, the scrolled arms slope down ending with lobed terminals.
The front seat rail, arm rests and swept front legs all being inlaid with brass.
Hairy paw brass feet and brass castors.
Retaining its original squab seta cushion and horsehair baluster cushion.
The arms have been recovered in a linen scrim.
English circa 1830


The intricate brass inlay work and lobed terminals make the piece attributable to Gillows ( see Dr Susan Stuart's 'Gillows of Lancaster and  London 1730-1840 )
